Nevada drops hard fought rematch with VCU, 85-76

Despite sophomore standout Luke Babbitt's 27 points and his classmate Dario Hunt's 13 rebounds, Nevada lost the first game of a three-game road swing to VCU, 85-76. Nevada shot a paltry 7% from behind the arc, and just 29-of-82 on the game.

Eagle (Ida.) high school quarterback Taylor Kelly was one of the best prospects we saw this past summer, and although he lived only a handful of miles from the Boise State campus, we were surprised to see the strong-armed and athletic slinger still on the recruiting board. A year after an injury ended his junior year, which saw him miss the playoffs, Kelly got his revenge by leading the Mustangs to the 5A state title after a 22-21 win.
